Inside Scoop: Color Factory

Part art gallery, part museum, part playground, Color Factory is Soho’s must-see attraction. This ultra-Instagrammable experience invites families and friends to explore 16 interactive installations that surround you in beautiful hues. You’ll take a personalized color walk, compliment each other with colorful words, and play in a blissful blue ball pit. Best of all, the cameras inside each room can photograph your fun and send you your pictures, which are sure to get plenty of love on social media.

Families with kids will love the chance to get hands-on with art, while adults can look forward to feeling like children again in these fun-filled rooms, each designed by a local artist. In one room, you’ll romp among ombre balloons printed with the hopes of 826NYC students. In another you’ll get a pretty macaron cookie in a rainbow hue. And don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes—no matter the color—for the grooviest installation of all.

Color Factory began as a pop-up installation in San Francisco in 2017. After a smash-hit success, the team brought a new spectrum of installations, totalling 20,000 square feet in size, to New York City. Featured collaborators include: Lakwena Maciver, Mmuseumm, Emmanuelle Moureaux, Jason Polan, Tamara Shopsin, Kassia St Clair, Molly Young, Kendra Dandy, James Rosa/LAND Gallery, 826NYC, Christine Wong Yap, Rebecca Wright, Randi Brookman Harris, Leah Rosenberg, Erin Jang, and Oh Happy Day.

At the end of your experience at Color Factory, visit the gift shop, and check out your complimentary map of Soho. More colorful escapades await as you shop, play, and explore the vibrant city outside.
