First Weekend of Open Streets
Learn More |
The Columbus Amsterdam BID is hosting our first weekend of Open Streets on April 20 and 21. Open Streets is a now-permanent city program that closes off certain streets each week for pedestrian use and community events.
The BID has planned a series of family-friendly events on Open Streets for the summer, including music, games, classes, art, and more. Activities such as chess, dominoes, hula hooping, and chalk art occur on both Saturdays and Sundays.
Saturday, April 20 will include a Henna workshop with local artist Tasnia from 11-2 PM.
Sunday, April 21 will feature a performance and puppet-making class by Bloomingdale-based kindie-rock musician Esther Crow at 1 PM as well as a soccer workshop by Soccer Stars for children of all ages from 1-3 PM.
These events are perfect for a day out with the family and are completely free and open to the public. Open Streets takes place on Amsterdam Avenue from 106-110th streets. Saturday activities run from 11-7 PM and Sundays from 12-6 PM.
